Why sing multiplication songs?
Research has shown that music has positive effects on the brain and on one's ability to do math. Just by putting the multiples into a familiar, catchy tune, those who struggle to memorize facts can recall them by humming or singing. We all need to find our individual learning style, but singing multiplication songs fits just about everybody's learning style!
Think about how you can recall the name of a song, or even the words of a song, just by hearing the first few notes or the melody. Isn't it great that you can hook numbers to that song and know multiplication and division facts, not to mention factors and multiples are needed when calculating fractions and equations too! That's BIG!
